W.A. McElroy Jr., the Rev. Floyd McCain and the Rev. Archie Parker officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Brock Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Hurst died Sunday at Clay County Hospital after a short illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lydia Hurst of Lineville; seven daughters, Mrs. Bernice Strickland and Mrs. Hazel Hammock, both of Lineville, and Mrs. Margie Dingier, Mrs. Ethel Bell, Mrs. Victoria Yates, Mrs. Hilta H. Morrow and Mrs. Gladys McCollough, all of Delta; three sons, Harce B. Hurst and Jerry Hurst, both of Lineville, and Ray Hurst of Delta; two brothers, Andrew Hurst of Lineville and Corbet Hurst of Alexandria; 35 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Frankie Dingier, Allen Hammock, Robert Yates, Bruce McCollough, Jimmy Dingier and Dewey Hammock. Honorary pallbearers will be the Clay County Convention Singers. Mr. Hurst was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. He was a retired farmer and a member of Union (D) Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Clay County Convention Singers.
