Mrs. J. E. Jenkins 90. died Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Atkins in 
Gadsden. An outstanding resident of Delta for more than 30 years. Mrs. Jenkins 
had made her home in Gadsden and Ashland for the past four years. She was known 
to her friends in Delta as "Aunt Lizzie". Funeral services were held at 2 
o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Delta Baptist Church with the Rev. Elbert 
Daniel officiating. She is survived by five sons, J F. of Delta, J. A. and 
Denver of Oakville, Tenn., Albert of Albany, Ga., and H. B. of Ashland, three 
daughters, Mrs. Clinton Garrett of Delta. Mrs. J. H. Cockrell of Plant City, 
Fla. and Mrs. Nathan Atkins of Gadsden; and a number of grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. Grandsons serving as pallbearers were: Forest Jenkins, Arvel 
Jenkins, Allen Garrett, Gwin Garrett, Ewart Atkins, and Trobridge Cockrell.
