Ashland Progress
John M. Jenkins, well known citizen of Clay County died suddenly near Clairmont 
Springs Friday, February 11 at the age of 60 years. Funeral services were not 
held until Monday awaiting the arrival of one of his sons from Florida. The 
funeral service was held at Sardis, conducted S. J. Ingram. and the body was laid 
to rest in the Sardis cemetery.  Mr. Jenkins leaves a wife and three sons and a 
daughter. Three of his children, Bernice, Roy and Atwell were at home and one 
son, Arthur, resident of Palatka, Fla. The deceased was a good citizen and had 
many friends to whom the news of his death brings sorrow.
