Ashland Progress
In the early hours of the morning on Tuesday the 3rd. day of February, the Death 
Angel came and claimed Borden for his. The going of this young man has brought 
sadness to many homes and his untimely death was a great shock to his family and 
friends. Borden was born November the 15th. 1900. He graduated at Clay County 
High School in 1922, and shortly after his graduation he went to Springfield, 
Mo. where he found employment and was quite successful in all his undertakings, 
at the time of his death he was stationed at St. Louis, Mo. The body was brought 
by the sorrowing parents from a hospital of that city where for five weeks he 
had struggled bravely against typhoid fever. The funeral service was conducted 
by Rev. S J. Ingram, Thursday February 5, at 11 o'clock. Interment was at Sardis 
Cemetery......
