Ashland Progress
Citizens of Ashland were shocked last Thursday afternoon when they heard of the 
sudden and unexpected death of Mrs. Willie Jenkins, 27 years of age, at her home 
in the western part of Ashland. Mrs. Jenkins had been living in Ashland for three 
days only, having removed here from Talladega on Tuesday before her death on 
Thursday. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove Christian church Friday 
afternoon, S. J. Ingram of Talladega officiating. after which interment was made 
in the Pleasant Grove cemetery, Blair directing. Surviving are her husband and a 
six-year-old son, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ingram of the Bowden Grove 
community and several brothers and sisters.
