Ashland Progress
Funeral services for Mrs. Deborah Anne Tabitha Johns were held a Sardis church 
Sunday morning, Jan 25, at 11 o'clock. Rev. W. E. Wellborn conducted the service 
with Blair directing. Mrs. Johns died at the home of her son, G. W. Johns in 
Alexander City Friday. She was 84 years old. She was a member of First Baptist 
Church of Clairmont Springs for 64 years. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. J N. 
Clark of Talladega; four sons. W. A. Johns of Talladega. A. U. Johns of Atlanta, 
GA., L. D. Johns of Gulfport. Miss., and G. W. Johns of Alexander City; 32 
grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Her husband died 18 years ago. 
Pallbearers were C. J. Johns, O. B. Johns, Carmen Johns, Daniel Johns, John 
McCarter and George Tidwell.
