Johnson, 78, a retired farmer of Delta, Rt. 1, in Cleburne County, died at his home at 1:30 this morning after an illness of six months. He had lived in Cleburne County his entire life and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Bethel Church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Revs. Dewey Adams and Pesnell Payne officiating. Burial will be in the adjacent cemetery, Usrey directing. Survivors include the widow; five daughters, Mrs. M. L. Blake. Heflin; Mrs. Alva Thrower and Mrs. Owen Morris, Birmingham; Mrs. Swann Boyd, Wedowee, and. Mrs. Vernon Walker Winter Garden, Fla.; three sons, J. D. of Delta; Lewis, of Opp, and Sylvan Johnson; of Orlando, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four brothers, Melvin Johnson; Anniston; Plemon, of Heflin, Rt. 3; George, of Fort Payne, and Joe Johnson, Birmingham; and four sisters, Mrs. T. O. Moore, LaFayette; Mrs. Arthur Jones, Delta; Mrs. Lois Howell, Lubbock, Texas, and Mrs. Byron Davies, Sweetwater, Texas.
