Lineville Headlight
Horace Johnson, 21, who formally lived in Clay County, and who went to 
Birmingham a few months ago, where he secured employment, in a cafe and soon 
became one of the managers, was killed in Birmingham last Monday night. The 
decedent was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jim John Swope, and live near Delta 
The body was brought home Thursday for burial at Bethel Church, near the end of 
the highway. The young man who was killed was widely known in the locality of 
Delta. He went to Birmingham pot such employment as he could, and soon made 
good. He was killed, so to speak, in line of duty. Mr. Johnson was shot, police 
say, after he had ejected a negro woman, said to be Selena Gilmore, 39, from the 
restaurant. She was ordered from the restaurant after berating the man augment 
for refusing to sell her some groceries......
