Ashland Progress 
On Tuesday night of this week Mrs. Iula Joiner who made her home with her 
daughter, Mrs. James M. Hobbs, Jr., died after a short illness of pneumonia. 
Funeral services were held at the Ashland Baptist church Wednesday morning, 
conducted by Rev. J. E. Franks, after which interment was made in the Ashland 
cemetery, Blair directing. At the time of her death Mrs. Joiner was a teacher in 
the Heflin High School.
