Services for the Rev. John A. Joiner, 70, of Ashland, will be Monday at 11 a.m. 
at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. A.A. Jacobs and Ralph B. Jurnigan 
officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive 
friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 9 a.m. today until an hour 
before services. Rev. Joiner died today at Clay County Hospital. Survivors 
include two sons, John D. Joiner of Warner Robins, Ga., and Jerry Joiner of 
Winder, Ga. four sisters, Mrs. Irene Machen, Mrs. Maude Tate, Mrs. Mary Sue 
Jones and Miss Sara Bell Patterson, all of Alexander City; a brother, Rubin 
Joiner of Alexander City; and five grandchildren. Rev. Joiner was a native of 
Tallapoosa County and lived all of his adult life in Clay County. He was a 
Baptist minister for 30 years and a member of Concord Baptist Church, where he 
served as pastor for 13 years.
