Progressive Age 
Elijah F. Joiner, age 86 suddenly at the home of his son, N. H. Joiner, at Pisgah 
Tuesday morning, May 16, 1944. The funeral was held in Clay County near Lineville 
Wednesday morning at 11:00 o'clock. That place was his former home. Scottsboro 
Funeral Home was in charge of burial. In addition to his son at Pisgah, he leaves 
two daughters, Mrs. Cora Caldwell, of Alma, Ala., and Mrs. O. F. Childs, of 
Cragford, Ala. He also leaves seventeen grandchildren and several great 
grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Hassie Fargason, of Clay County. The Masons 
were in charge of services at the grave. The deceased came to Pisgah two years 
ago to make his home with his son and family.
