The Alexander City Outlook
Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Lee Nora Holmes Jones, 86, were held at Rock 
Springs Baptist Church Saturday at 3 p. m. Officiating in the services were the 
Rev. L.M. Jones, the Rev. Judson Jones and the Rev. O. A. Burdette. Burial was 
in the adjoining cemetery, with Radney Funeral Home directing. A native of 
Alexander City, Mrs. Jones died at her residence on Route 1, Goodwater, Friday. 
She is survived by her husband, A.J. of Alexander City; four sons, C. P. Holmes, 
of Greenville, W. A. Holmes, of Montezuma, K.J. Holmes, of Daviston, and E. O. 
Holmes of Thomaston, five stepsons, L. M. Jones, of Birmingham, E.S. Jones, of 
Goodwater, U. G. Jones of Wetumpka, Chelsey Jones of Hackneyville, and Judson 
Jones, of Hueytown; five daughters, Mrs. H.O. Patton, of Sylacauga, Mrs. D. A. 
Young of Goodwater, Mrs. L. S. Stewart of Camp Hill, Mrs. B. B. Hoper of 
Decatur, and Mrs. C. S. Gaither, of Santa Monica, one sister, Mrs. Fannie Mae 
Conway of Goodwater; 42 grandchildren and 48, great grandchildren.
