Rev. J.W. Dean of Cook Springs assisted by Rev. E.E. Laney and W.B. Nolen conducted the funeral services with Blair directing. The deceased was the widow of the late J.M. Jordan and is survived by five sons: Z.P. of Ashland; W.R., L.O., and E.M. of Cragford; and Dr. C.E. of Sumiton, Ala; and three daughters, Mrs. J.L. Thompson, Mrs. Joe Wood and Mrs. Nora Irwin all of Cragford. Pallbearers were Pereano, Eustace, Burlin, and Darrall Jordan, and Cecil Johnson and Forrest Wood. Additional Comments: Laura Octava Miller Jordan (5/29/1861 - 2/28/1940) was the daughter of J.J. "Kern" and Nancy Dean Miller of Mellow Valley, AL. She was married on 1/17/1882 to James Monroe "Jimmiroe" Jordan (2/23/1860-10/17/1927), son of N. Jasper and Ann Mellon Jordan. Laura and James Monroe, and J.J. and Nancy Miller are buried at County Line. Jasper Jordan is buried at Ebenezer. Ann Mellon Jordan Bradford is buried at Lystra. An earlier obituary appeared in the newspaper on the day of the funeral, indicating services were to held that afternoon and that Laura Jordan had died early Wednesday morning, following a long illness.
