Sister Jordan was loved by all who knew her, though she is gone her ideals live. She was born Aug. 17, 1874, was married to Mr. James W. Jordan in 1891. She joined the Baptist Church in early life where she lived a devoted member. Mrs. Jordan leaves four girls and two boys to mourn their loss also two orphan nieces she was keeping for her brother. Her husband proceeded her two years ago. After the death of her husband, she left their home at Barfield and moved near Cragford to care for her aged parents. Before leaving this community, she was a faithful member of the W. M. U. and a Charter member of the 0. E. S. No. 183. To her children she loved so dearly we say your very best friend has gone and it is sad to think so, we often wonder why it had to be, but when the trials of this life are past, and we have crossed the chilly tide of death into the celestial city of God we will understand. The heartfelt sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved ones and our sincere prayer is that the family tie that was bound on earth will be bound in heaven. Her body was laid to rest in New Harmony cemetery. Rev. F. J. Ingram, her pastor, conducting the funeral services.
