Ashland Progress
J. W. Kellum, age 66, a highly respected citizen of the Corinth community, died 
at his home there last Wednesday, after an illness of several weeks duration. 
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Corinth church with 
Rev. S. C. Ray, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with Blair 
directing. Mr. Kellum is survived by his wife and four sons and four daughters: 
Luther Kellum, Wadley; Buddie Kellum, Gadsden; Lumis Kellum, Cragford; Jessie 
Kellum, Alexander City; Mrs. John W. Simpson, Cragford; Mrs. John D. Denam, 
Malone; Miss Bernice Kellum, Cragford. Five sons and a son-in-law of the deceased 
acted as pallbearers.
