West Point News
Thomas Kelly, 77, resident of Plant City died Tuesday at the Valley hospital 
after an illness of ten days. He was a native of Clay County, Alabama and a 
member of the Baptist church of Plant City. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. 
Elizabeth Tinney Kelly, and nine daughters, Mrs. J. H. Caldwell of Five Points, 
Mrs. Harvey Lambert of River View, Mrs. William Caldwell of Pisgah, Ala., Mrs. 
Jay Walker of River View. Mrs. Arnold Gilbert of Lanett, Mrs. Chester Weldon of 
Huguley, Mrs. Eugene Walls of Lanett, and Mrs. Lewis Hamby of West Point; six 
sons, Ezra of Five Points, Ethridge of Cragford, Ala., Milford of Pavo, Ga., 
Hubert of Alexander City, James of Prattville, and Idus of Lanett; and several 
grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist church 
near Ashland, Ala. Interment was in the church yard, Johnson and Blakely 
officiating.
