Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph Kennedy, 69, of Delta, who died Monday night 
from a heart attack, were held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Delta 
Baptist Church with burial in the Delta cemetery. A native of Clay County, where 
she spent her entire life, Mrs. Kennedy was the daughter of the late Mr. and 
Mrs. Joe Young. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Cofield and Mrs. 
Bernice Hill; one son, Hugh Kennedy, all of Delta; four sisters, Mrs. Clyde Bobo 
of Oxford, Mrs. H. T. O'Dell of Jacksonville. Mrs. A. A. Chapman of Rome. Ga., 
and Mrs. Vance Lucas of Talladega; four brothers, R. S. Young of Anniston, 
Shaffer Young of Auburn, Charles Young of Bowling Green, Fla., and Sidney Young 
of Miami, Fla.

Funeral services for Mrs. Vada Young Kennedy, 69, of Delta, were conducted at 
the Delta Baptist Church this week. Mrs. Young, a long-time citizen of Delta and 
an ardent church and civic worker, died suddenly. The funeral services were 
conducted by the Rev. D. W. Burson. the Rev. B. W. Mathews and the Rev. Gus 
Young. Burial was in Delta Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. 
Gladice Cofield and Mrs. Young Hill, and a son, Hugh Kennedy, all of Delta, four 
sisters. Mrs. A. A. Chapman. Rome, Ga.; Mrs. Vance Lucas. Talladega; Mrs. H. T. 
O'Dell. of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Clyde Bobo, of Oxford; four brothers, R. I. 
Young, Anniston; Charles Young, Bowling Green. Fla.; S. Young, of Auburn, and 
Sid Young, of Winter Haven, Fla., and several grandchildren. Pallbearers were: 
Curtis Moody. Joe Hill, Woodrow Ingram, Loyd Young, Gus Young and Sam Young.
