Ashland Progress
Mrs. Kennedy, wife of J. W. Kennedy, died at her home in the Bethel community in 
the southern part of Clay, at 3:00 o'clock in the morning of July the 4th. She 
was born in Georgia and moved to Alabama when she was only 10 years of Age.
She was going on her 85th year when she died. She had been failing in health for 
quite a while. Loving hands did all they could for her, but God knew best and 
took her home to rest. She is survived by her husband, three sons and three 
daughters A. H. Kennedy, R. M. Kennedy, A. L. Kennedy, Mrs. Sallie Crabtree, Mrs. 
B. Cotney and Miss Bulah Kennedy. There are four gone on to rest, awaiting the 
resurrection morning. She was laid to rest in the Bethel cemetery.
