Be it therefore Resolved that the Lodge has sustained an irreparable loss, the community a good and true friend, the country a good and loyal citizen, the wife a true and loving husband, the children a kind and affectionate father. Resolved, that we keep as fresh in memory the many virtues and noble traits of character of our departed brother ai the evergreens we deposited with the remains of our brother and friend which were consigned to their last resting place on October 4th, 1894, at Mt. Gilead, Clay County, by this Lodge, assisted by members of Putmam Lodge and others. Resolved further, that we wear the usual badge of mourning thirty days; that a copy of these resolutions be sent to the Roanoke Herald and Randolph Leader for publication and Clay County papers please copy.
