Knowles, 90, of 4619 Sprague Anniston, died Tuesday, at an Anniston nursing home after a long illness. Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at 17th Street Church of God with the Rev. O. V. Sewell officiating. Burial will be in Black's Chapel Cemetery, Clay County, with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Johns and Mrs. Wilma Simmons, both of Anniston, and Mrs. Avis Capley of Daytona Beach, Fla. two sons, Cecil Knowles of Gadsden, and Forrest Knowles, of Chickamauga, a sister, Mrs. Naomi Denny of Boaz, two brothers, Woodfin Green of Cragford, and Jess Green of Kentucky; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Mrs. Knowles was a native of Dublin, former resident of Clay County and lived in Anniston 32 years. She was a member of 17th Street Church of God. The body will remain at the funeral home until one hour prior to services.
