Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Delta Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Riddle, the Rev. D. Hurst and the Rev: Barnett Moore officiating. Burial will be in Delta Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville in charge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vernon Landers; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Payne of Eastman, a son, Gilbert Landers Jr. of Montgomery; a brother, Idus Landers of Wedowee; seven grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will be John F. Landers, Herman Landers, Grady H. Braswell, Billy Braswell, H. O. Braden, Humphrey Braden, Gilbert L. Braden, Baskin Landers and Landers McCarley. Mr. Landers was a native of Randolph County and had lived in Clay County for 27 years. He was a member of Delta Baptist Church, a veteran of World War I and a retired schoolteacher. The body will remain at the funeral home until one hour prior to services.
