Mr. Leftwich made a brave fight with the dreaded typhoid. His physicians and friends did all in their power that he might recover; but God in his infinite wisdom saw fit to call him home. Just before he died, in that calm hour when people are honest with themselves, with their friends and with their God, brother Leftwich told his friends that he was ready to die. These are as great words as any one can utter. The deceased brother was 31 years, 1 month and 1 day old. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 18 and attached himself to Mellow Valley Church. He had a lovely disposition and made many friends wherever he lived. On December 14th, after funeral services conducted by Revs. W. M. Worthy, G. T. Burgess and W. R. Ingram, his remains were laid to rest in the County Line cemetery there to await the ressurection on the last great day. He leaves to mourn his loss a broken hearted wife, a father and mother, three sisters, and two brothers. We extend to the bereaved family our heartfelt sympathies and commend them to God who careth for them and who has never forsaken his own.
