The load entered right eye and coming outback of head. It seems that the white boys had been out hunting and had stepped in the read in front of the colored boys house. Several children were present besides the brothers and sisters of the victim. No motive for killing was shown in the preliminary Monday afternoon other than an accident. It seems that all were in a good humor, and several of the witnesses testified they were laughing and talking up until the fatal tragedy. It is said the Reeves boy had a young rabbit in his pocket that was attracting considerable attention among the colored children, and they were very close around. The Reeves boy said a few minutes before he prepared his gun to shoot but didn't, and said he was holding his gun on his thigh when suddenly it was discharged unknowing to him. In the preliminary, Monday afternoon he was discharged as there were no evidence to show anything more than an accident File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/al/clay/obits/l/lindsey4074gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/alfiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
