She was a woman of remarkable vitality, had always been in almost perfect health, and death came to her as a natural consequence of her extreme age. Mrs. Luker formerly lived at the old Luker homestead in the eastern part of the county but moved to the Rock Spring community a long while ago. We are informed that she had been a member of the Baptist church 75 years and was in the constitution of two churches. She was the mother of 13 children,7 of whom-six sons and one daughter are still living. Her children. grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren number 119. A great many of these reside in Clay County and form a useful group of the county's citizenship. The deceased was buried in Rock Springs cemetery, Thursday, August 17, the funeral services being conducted by her pastor, Rev. S. J. Ingram of this city.
