Ashland Progress
Funeral services for Phineas Macoy, 55, were held at Shiloh Baptist church, 3 
miles southeast of Lineville with the Rev. Cecil Little officiating. Burial was 
in adjoining cemetery, Blair directing. The body of Mr. Macoy was discovered in 
his home early Sunday morning by a neighbor, apparently dead for several hours.
The exact cause of his death was not immediately determined; however, the coroner 
rendered a verdict of death from natural causes. Mr. Macoy had been ill of a 
heart ailment for several years, and it is presumed that death resulted from a 
heart attack. He was a son of the late John and Mrs. Macoy. He is survived by two 
sisters, Mrs. A. F. Morrison and Mrs. Jesse McCollum, both of Lineville, and 
other relatives.
