Ashland Progress
On Monday evening, December 31st, the silent messenger, the angel of death, 
entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Macoy, calling their 31-year-old son, 
William Lee, to rest. "Bill", as he was known to his friends, had won a place in 
the hearts of all who knew him, by his wonderful personality and character. know 
his place in the home seems vacant and oh how lonely all the paths his feet have 
trod. You have paid your last tribute to Bill but as the shadows of gloom hover 
around you dear parents, wife, brothers, sisters, and friends, remember God in 
his infinite wisdom saw fit to call from your midst one who was so dear. We know 
it seems another mystery and only God can reveal the workings of His way, Bill 
is now in the mansion prepared for him in the home of the blest, and there shall 
be no more death, neither sorrow, neither shall there be any more crying nor 
pain, for God shall wipe all tears away. So while your hearts bleed think of the 
greatness of God, and the joy in that land where the righteous dwell. Cast all 
your care upon Jesus who weeps with those that weep and humbly submit, for he 
careth for you. May the sympathy of friends and the memory of the sweet 
relationship of this beautiful life help to lighten the load of grief. May God 
lead each of you ever onward until you meet again, but forget him not, for 
remember: Gone is the one thou didst, love, your pride, the hope of your life; 
He shall be waiting for you, And God shall call you from strife.
