Martin, 80, of 1000 W. 53rd Anniston, died Friday at Anniston Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Saks with the Rev. Jimmy Sims and the Rev. J. R. Akins officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Clay County, with Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge. Survivors include her husband, Luther Martin; three daughters, Mrs. Blanche Temple of Ozark, Mrs. Irma Hagan of Gadsden, and Mrs. Virginia Birchfield of Ft. Lauderdale, two sons, William Clayton Birchfield of Anniston, and L. Forest Birchfield of Birmingham; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Tom Driscoll of Williamsburg, Miss Edna Martin and Mrs. Margaret Morrison, both of Anniston; a stepson. Lester Martin of Atlanta four sisters, Mrs. Cora Harrington and Mrs. Tula Whatley, both of Lineville, Mrs. Celia Birchfield of Birmingham, and Mrs. Alma Wesley of Shawmutt; a brother, Draper Watts of Lineville; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grand-children, seven step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gary Birchfield. William Birchfield. Bill Birchfield, Rodney Birchfield. Douglas Martin and Richard Roberts. Members of Philathia Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Saks will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Martin was a native of Clay County and lived in Calhoun County 48 years.
