Services for John L. Martin, 84, of Lineville, Rt. 3, will be Friday at 2 p.m. 
at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Bud Mitchell officiating. Burial will be 
in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Martin died 
Wednesday at Clay County Nursing Home after a long illness. Survivors include 
his wife Mrs. Dolly S. Martin Lineville; four daughters, Mrs. Mabel Wright of 
Houston, Texas, Mrs. Melessie Mae Morris of Denton, Texas, Mrs. Effie Lois 
Wright of Ashland, and Mrs. Claris Talbert of Sumiton; four sons, the Rev. Fred 
Martin of Tacoma, Benjamin F. Martin of Columbus, the Rev. O.T. Martin of 
Lineville and Benny J. Martin of Lineville; a stepson, Willie Fred Wheat of 
Lineville; and 28 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ronnie White, Kelly Wright, 
Willie Fred Wheat, Ronald Talbert, Donnie Wheat and Tommy Wheat.
