Rev. Robert Ingram conducted the funeral, assisted by Judge E. J. Garrison. Mr. Martin was 83 years of age and had lived ii Clay County all of his life. He joined the methodist Church in his early boyhood. His wife preceded him in death 23 yean ago Mr. Martin had been confined to his bed most of the time for two years. He is survived by five children W. P. Martin, Mrs. R. D. Summerlin, Mrs. R. C. Gaddy, Mrs. W. J. Carpenter, of Ashland, and A. Martin of Pisgah, Nineteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The pallbearers were the grandsons, Percy Martin Clarence and David Gaddy, Jimmie Martin, Q. Carpenter and James McDonald. Honorary pallbearers were. Judge F. B. Thompson, Chester Gaither, Perry Gilbert, W. E. Carpenter, Doyle Carpenter, Charlie Thomas. Flower girls were the gran- daughters. Blair was in charge.
