The Rev. R. T. Sanderson, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Ashland, assisted by the Rev. H. F. Keeble, Goodwater, officiated. Biair Funeral Home was in change and interment was in the Macedonia Cemetery. Mrs. Martin died in the Clay County Hospital, Sunday morning following an illness of several weeks. She had resided in Ashland most of her life but had lived in Goodwater during the past year. Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband, Dwight Martin, Ashland; one son, Clarence Chastain, Alexander City; three daughters, Sandra Lou Martin, Ashland, Mrs. J. R. Williams, Cleveland, Tenn, Mrs. A. C. Latham, Anniston; her mother, Mrs. Charles J. Thompson, Ashland; her grandmother, Mrs. John Gaither, Ashland; two brothers, John T. Summerlin, Sylacauga, and Durell Summerlin, Ashland, and four grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Hubert Thompson, James McDonald, W. T. Gaither, Leonard Hawkins, Chief Ogbum and A. J. Knox. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Alabama Highway Patrol and City Police Force, Sylacauga.
