Ashland Progess
Mrs. Martha May, wife of W. W. May died quite suddenly at their home in the 
Campbell's Crossroads community Monday. Had she lived till the 29th day of March 
she would have been 88 years of age. She was married to Mr. May in 1881, a little 
more than 50 years ago. Their only child, a daughter, died at the age of 13 
years. Mr. and Mrs. May formerly resided in the vicinity of Ashland, where they 
are kindly remembered by their neighbors and friends of many years ago.  Funeral 
services conducted by Rev. F. J. Ingram were held Tuesday morning at Mineral 
Springs, near the home of the deceased, and her remains were buried in Mineral 
Springs cemetery.  Mrs. May was a devout Christian and had been a member of the 
Baptist church more than half her long life.
