V. T. McCaffrey died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. McCaffrey in this city Monday night. Mr. McCaffrey, after he was injured, was taken to a Memphis hospital for treatment, and for some time it was thought that he would recover. A few days ago, he was brought to the home of his parents in this city, when his condition soon grew worse. The announcement of his death is deeply regretted by friends in this city and elsewhere. He was a young Methodist minister of bright promise, and his death is a loss to the denomination. The remains will be taken to Bethlehem Church in Clay County for burial, leaving this city Wednesday morning at seven o'clock. The body accompanied by relatives and friends, will be taken through the country. The distance is about twenty-two miles.
