He was the son of Rev. James E. and Mrs. Minerva McCain; pioneer settlers of the Olive Branch community and his educational advantages were received at the Lineville Academy. The deceased was a traveling salesman for about nineteen years and was also engaged in the mercantile business until his health became precarious. He was a member of the W. 0. W. Lodge for 18 or 20 years and was also a member of the Lineville Methodist church and in recent years he had been a strong prohibitionist. He was married io Miss Ella M. Brown, of Villa Rica, Ga., April 19, 1891. The funeral services took place on. Saturday, Oct. 19, 1912, at Olive Branch cemetery and were conducted by the W. 0. W. Lodge. His remains were interred in this cemetery, where many of his relatives lie buried. He is survived by his widow and two children and a host of relatives.
