Our Mountain Home
On the morning of the 12th of August, Rev. J. E. McCain died at his home at 
Lineville, Ala. The deceased was one of the best-known ministers of this section 
of the country and had done a great work for the Master. He was a prominent 
figure in the conference, which met here a few years ago and a sermon which he 
preached at the Mt. Canaan colored Baptist church on Sunday morning of the 
conference week is remembered by many of our people. He was a great preacher and 
a good man, and his works will long remain after him.
