Ashland Progress
Howard C. McCain met a tragic death last Friday when the tractor which he was 
learning to operate turned over on his body killing him instantly Mr. McCain was 
32 years of age and lived with his mother on a farm near Lineville. Funeral 
services were held at the Lineville Methodist church on Saturday afternoon, 
conducted by Rev. L. M. Harris, assisted by Rev. Homer Roberts and Rev. Mr. Igou. 
The body was interred at Olive Branch, Blair directing, Besides his mother Mrs. 
Ella McCain, the deceased leaves a sister, Mrs. J. H. Knight, of Frederick, one 
Uncle Jno. R. McCain, and two aunts Miss Ellen McCain and Mrs. Frank Holder, of 
Lineville.
