James McCain died as a result of a motorcycle accident on a Farm to Market Road just off U.S. Highway 280 in Hollins community about 4:20 Friday. According to reports he either lost control of the machine or suffered a heart attack. He was on his way home to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawson R. McCain, He was killed instantly according to the people who reached; him minutes afterward. He had served as crew chief on a plane at Craig Air Force Base Selma, for the past 30 days. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mavis McCain, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawson McCain and five sisters; Miss Aileen McCain, Ashland, Miss Allie Mae McCain and Fred Lackey, Talladega; Mrs. Henry Hurst and Mrs. Mary Alice Endress, Ashland. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove Church at 3 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Alvin Horn and Judge Wilbur Nolen officiating, directed by the funeral home of Sylacauga. Then the full military service was held at the grave by the Craig Air Force Base of Selma.
