McCain, 80, of Ashland, Rt. 1, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lystra Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Williamson, the Rev. Hollis Horn and the Rev. Grady Birchfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Blair-Brock Funeral Home of Lineville in. charge. Mr. McCain died Tuesday at Clay County Hospital after a short illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lilla Mae McCain of Ashland; four daughters, Mrs. Daisy Hanner and Mrs. Magdalene Miller, both of Ashland, Mrs. Jackie Gilbert of Alexander City and Mrs. Christine Shuman of Brunswick, two sons, Arvis G. McCain of Childersburg and Floyd J. McCain of Ashland; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Smith of Newsite, Mrs. Ethel Queen and Mrs. Lois Strickland, both of Goodwater; two brothers, Owens McCain and William McCain, both of Ashland; 21 grandchildren; and 23 greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will be Delmer Hanner, Randy Hanner, Johnny Gilbert, Wayne McCain, Douglas McCain and Reggie McCain. Mr. McCain was a native of Clay County, a retired farmer and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of Lystra Baptist Church. The body will remain at the residence until time for services.
