She was brought to Clay County in her early life by her parents and spent the greater part of her life near Campbell's Crossroads where she died. She was married to W. T. McClellan in 1861. Mr. McClellan passed away March 27, 1920. 11 children were born to them, 4 of whom died in their infancy, and Mrs. Warner Todd on February 15, 1918. 3 sons and 3 daughters survive: W L. McClellan of Adel, Ga., J. C. McClellan of Birmingham, Ala., and E. G. McClellan, Mrs. L. L. Hill, Mrs. J. D. Patterson and Mrs. Preston Messer of Route 2, Pyriton, Ala. The deceased was a consecrated Christian for 58 years and her life was filled with proof that her religion was not a mere formality but was real. She was hospitable, kind and very sympathetic and always ready to nurse the sick and comfort the distressed. Her beautiful life endeared her to all who knew her. We shall miss her but we shall meet again in the sweet by and by. She was laid to rest at Pleasant Grove July 19th in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends. The funeral was conducted by Mr. Lambrice, Evangelist, of the Christian Church of which she was a member. A. L. Pettus.
