H. McCrary in the year 1854. To this union was given six children, four boys and two girls, she was left a widow in the year 1869. She joined the Baptist church at the age of thirteen. For these seventy years she lived a devoted Christian. She was a great lover of her Bible and spent much time reading its blessed pages. She was one of the still, quiet Christians, her life every day alike; one of the ones the Savior had reference to when He said "Ye are the salt of the earth". After an illness of six days she departed this life Sept 30th, 1910 age 82 years, 10 months, 18 days, leaving four children, J. R. McCrary, who, lived close enough that he and his wife could administer to her during her illness, Wm McCrary, whom she lived with and who cared for her so tenderly E. N. McCrary, who lives near Boaz, and Mrs. Mary Gillian, who was present to administer to her till the last. These four children, a number of grand-children and a host of friends are left to mourn her death. Her body was interred in Flat Rock cemetery on Oct 1st the funeral services were conducted by the writer. Children, weep not for her as those who have no hope. She has gone forth to dwell in that mansion prepared by the Savior, a house not made with hands, eternal in heaven. Her pastor, B. W.
