Cleburne Era
Mrs. N. J. McCrary, wife of Newton J. McCrary a prominent merchant and planter of 
Clay County, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Kitchens in this city 
Monday after a short illness of pneumonia. She was about 60 years old. Mrs. 
McCrary came to Heflin about three weeks ago to be at the bedside of her 
daughter, Mrs. Kitchens, and soon after arriving here contracted a severe cold 
which developed into pneumonia and proved fatal. Her remains were carried to her 
home in Clay County for interment The New Era joins other friends in offering 
sympathy to the be reaved ones.

She is buried at New Harmony Cemetery, Clay County AL.
