Ashland Progress
Reuben McLeroy of the very old residents of the county, died at his home a few 
miles North of Ashland Thursday. October 27. He is said to have been apparently 
as well as usual and was in the crib shucking corn for the purpose of feeding his 
stock, when he was stricken by sudden death. He is survived by two sons. N. C. 
and R. M. McLeroy and by 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. His remains 
were buried Friday in old Poplar Springs burying near his home following 
appropriate funeral services. He was 85 years old.
