Services for Helon McVay, 81, of Lineville will be Monday at 11 a.m. at 
Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville with the Rev. Eugene Robinson officiating. 
Burial will be in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive 
friends today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and until service time on 
Monday. Mrs. McVay died Friday at Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega. 
Survivors include her husband, Woodrow McVay of Lineville; three daughters, 
Barbara and the Rev. Thomas Wilcox of Talladega, Stella and Woody L. Jones of 
Alexander City, and Betty Jean and Robert Patterson of Jackson's Gap; three 
sons, John David McVay and wife LaMerle of Jasper, Dwight V. McVay and wife 
Janice of Lineville, and Roger Dale McVay of Pell City; one sister, Pauline 
Carlisle of Alexander City; four brothers, Robert Huddleston of Millerville, 
J.I. Huddleston of Ashland, Fred Huddleston of Mt. Vernon, Wash., and Dallas 
Huddleston of Ludlow, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and three 
great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robbie Patterson, Mike Hale, 
Ricky Jones, Paul Jones, Jeremy Patterson, Greg Jones and Thomas M. Wilcox. Mrs. 
McVay was a native of Clay County and was a nurse's aide and LPN at the Clay 
County Hospital for 22 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Bellview 
Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son. Woody McVay Jr., twin 
daughters Sarah and Mary McVay, and her daughter-in-law Betsy McVay.
