Funeral service! for Sgt Melvln Lewis Messer, 22, Delta will be held Friday 
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Bethel Church. The Rev. S. P. Brown will 
officiate, and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Jones Funeral Home 
directing. Full military rites will be accorded by Fort McClellan personnel.  
Sargeant Messer was electrocuted accidentally Tuesday afternoon in a mishap at 
Fort Benning, Ga., where he was stationed. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. 
Naomi Sue Messer; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Messer of Delta; seven brothers, 
Elmer, Clarence, Oble and D. C. Messer of Delta, Erdile Messer of Douglas, Ga., 
Herman Messer of Asheville, N. C., and A. G. Messer of Birmingham; two sisters. 
Mrs. J. J. Miller of Delta and Mrs. Carl Johnson of Lineville.
