Tuesday night at half past eleven o'clock Mrs. J.W. Miller Quietly passed away at her home on Church Street, had been sick only a very few days and her illness was considered serious by her relatives and friends until just a day or two before her death. Mrs. Miller was 72 years of age and had been living in the vicinity of Ashland most of her life. She was a splendid Christian character and was universally esteemed, not only by her relatives and neighbors all who chanced to know her loved her and found in her a true and faithful friend. While she was by nature unpretentious and unassuming, she possessed a kind and affectionate disposition, was devoted to duty und was a willing helper in every good and righteous cause. She is survived by her husband, Justice Miller, four brothers, and a sister, most of whom live in other portions of the state. The funeral services were held Thursday morning at McDaniel's Chapel near Mellow Valley and her remains were laid to rest beside those of her parents in the cemetery at that place.
