Funeral services for Charles H. Mitchell, Sr., 86, of Cragford, were held at 
Blair's Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday afternoon with the Revs. Dee Hurst and 
James Duke officiating. Burial was in Lineville's New Cemetery. Grandsons served 
as pallbearers. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Mitchell moved to Clay County 
at an early age. He was, for many years, one of the leading merchants of 
Cragford and served on the Clay County Commissioner Court for eight years, 
representing District Three. He was a member of the Christian Church and 
Cragford Masonic Lodge. Mr. Mitchell, who died at Talladega Nursing Home Tuesday 
afternoon following a lengthy illness, is survived by the widow, three 
daughters. Mrs. W. W. Young of Lineville. Mrs. W.E. Orr of Talladega and W.E. 
Orr of Talladega and Mrs. J. D. Perry, Jr., of Wadley; our sons, George W. 
Mitchell of Hurtsboro, Carter Mitchell of Birmingham, Charles E. Mitchell of 
Cragford, and C. H. Mitchell, Jr., of Huntsville, 10 grandchildren, 18 
greatgrandchildren and three brothers and three sisters.
