S. W. Mitchell 77, of 200 McCullars Line, Oxford, died Sunday at 9 p.m., at his 
residence. A former resident of Clay Coun ty, he had resided in Calhoun County 
for seven years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m., at Shiloh 
Primitive Baptist Church in Del ta with the Revs. Lewis Denson and Barto Mason 
officiating. Burial will be in the adjacent cemetery with Gray Brown-Service 
Mortuary in charge. The body will lie in state at the church for an hour before 
services. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Mitchell; two sons, M.M. of 
Birmingham and the Rev. W. Mitchell Gadsden; three daughters, Mrs. Gloria Vaughn 
and Mrs. Winnie Gay Lassater of Boaz and Mrs. Cleslie Yale of Charlotteville, 
Va., one brother Jimmy Mitchell of Ashland; one sister, Mrs. Ola Saxon of 
Wellington; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Grandsons will be 
pallbearers.
