W. Moncus, age 73, at the Barfield Baptist Church at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Clyde Latham and the Rev. Cecil Little officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, with Blair Funeral Home directing. Mr. Moncus died at his home in the Barfield community early Thursday morning following a long illness. He had lived in Clay County all of his life, being employed by the AB and C Railroad for a number of years and had farmed for the past several years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora Woodruff Moncus, a son, James Moncus, Lineville, and a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Fariss, Talladega, 1 brother, C. L. Moncus, Lineville; four sisters, Mrs. Will Burgess, LaGrange, Ga., Mrs. Frank Griffin, Anniston, Mrs. Willingham, Lineville, and Mrs. Joe Johnson, Birmingham.
