John Boyd Moncus, 74, of Cragford died Sunday at his residence after a long 
illness. Services were to be today at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church with 
the Rev. Zenas Windsor and the Rev. Grady Birchfield officiating. Burial was to 
be in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge. Survivors 
include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Moncus; three sons, Ray Moncus, Herbert Moncus and 
Bobby Moncus, all of Langdale; two daughters, Mrs. Earl Mobley of Camp Hill and 
Miss Zuma Moncus of West Point; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 
Mr. Moncus was a lifelong resident of Clay County and a member of Mount Olive 
Baptist Church for 52 years. He was a farmer.
