The Columbus Ledger
Richard Hoyt Moncus 70 of Wadley Ala., father of several Columbus residents died 
at his home Sunday. Born July 31 1909 in Clay County Ala he was a retired farmer 
and a member of Sikesville Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife Mrs. Clara 
McLain Moncus four daughters Mrs. Burns Farrow of Wedowee Ala, Mrs. C. P. Farris 
of York Ala, Mrs. Ted R. Caldwell and Mrs. Hubert L. Bassett both of Columbus and 
two sons Jimmy L. Moncus of Lafayette Ala and Sgt William Moncus of Fort Benning. 

Additional Comments:
He is buried Corinth Cemetery, Clay County.
