Ashland Progress
Jake Bell, colored, was lodged in the county jail this morning charged with 
killing Arthur Moon, another negro, near Lineville last night. Nothing definite 
concerning the difficulty has been learned here, but we are informed that the 
shooting occurred at the dead man's house and whiskey played its usual part.

Additional Comments:
Jake Bell was convicted of murder and sent to prison.
